When I began working with Ray, well over 5 years ago, I had no idea that he would inspire me to make yoga a central part of my life. Now, all these years later, I trust my body and my spirit with him more so than any other yoga teacher I've had. He blends the sacred with practical, anatomical applications in a way that challenges my physical body and nurtures my spiritual body.
Ray has taught me how to care for my health and appreciate it while I was in prime condition. He also continues to teach me to show love to myself through illness. It is at those times of difficulty when the actual practice of yoga becomes less of a "want" and more of a "need".
Getting to class can be a challenge because I know I have to face myself there on my mat. There is no one else I would rather have supporting me through that. There is no one else that knows my body and it's strengths and needs better than Ray. As a teacher, he differentiates instructions to make each class meaningful and beneficial to each of his students.
If you haven't practiced with Ray, you should.

I have been a Patron of Oly yoga for over 3 years. It is by far my favorite yoga center in the greater Olympia area. The instructors are phenomenal and will keep you coming back. Very down to earth attitude and good spirits. The expertise is very apparent yet humbly executed. No one leaves with out a smile and (usually) fruit and healthy food tips :)
Did I mention that it is the cheapest in town? Truly a community atmosphere with caring stewards of yoga to demonstrate and teach for the greater good!

Ray teaches with the warm compassion of a true yogi. His classes are imbued with a sense of heart-opening play, leading the student to a profound healing of body, mind and spirit. I always leave class feeling vitalized, spacious, and deeply at rest. Thank you, Ray, for helping me to 'tap in'.

I found Oly Yoga a little over a year ago and wanted to start a yoga practice to gain strength in my physical health and flexibility, as well as focus on meditation. Ray is an incredible teacher, resource and friend. Oly Yoga is a wonderful community that is positive, supportive and encouraging. I love the time spent there and have learned/will continue to learn so much about my health and general well-being.
