FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $200 for one hour of training and $850 for 4 hours of training. My courses are divided into puppy/beginner, intermediate, advanced, and behavior modification. During 4 one hour sessions I am able to teach a full puppy/beginner, intermediate, or advanced course. Private classes are specifically developed based on the desires of the individual pet parent. Puppy/beginner courses cover house breaking, potty training, nipping, biting, jumping, chewing, scratching, digging, sit, down, stay, come when called, loose leash walking, watch me, greeting other dogs, leave it, and drop it. Intermediate courses add distance, duration, and distraction to basic behaviors as well as teach heal, on your bed or place, wait, and additional tricks. Advanced courses continue to build the reliability of basic behaviors as well as add healing through a crowd, sequencing commands, naming objects, learning to read, stacked wait, and additional tricks.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During our first session I will ask about your pet’s previous training and your personal training goals. We will develop a plan based on your goals and my observations and get started! Adjustments can be made as the sessions progress to ensure you and your dog are getting the best training possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 3 years experience working as a dog trainer for a national leading pet supply store where I taught group and private lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level dogs. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Masters degree in Animal Behavior from the University of Exeter. Upon receiving my MSc of Animal Behavior I began my own private dog training business with the goal of helping dogs and their owners learn to speak the same language through hand signals and vocal commands.
