FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with a new customer involves an initial conversation to go over any questions or necessary details up front, establish trust and to go over all expectations. This way, I can get to know my prospective clients and make sure that I incorporate the skills that they need to reach their goals in our lessons. If we both decide it's a great fit, then we'll pick a day and time, and start learning!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I was achieving my Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies, I had the chance to specialize in cultures, literature, film, and the arts. I also received minors in music and history. I graduated with the high academic distinction of Magna Cum Laude, which signifies that my undergraduate degree was received with great honor. My most recent tutoring experience was as an academic writing tutor while pursuing my Masters degree in Ireland. In 2012, I provided one-on-one tutoring to young students in the Tucson, Arizona region. I was committed to learning each student’s unique learning styles, strengths, and challenges through individualized lesson plans. In August of 2012 I earned Tutor of the Month for exhibiting hard work, dedication, and loyalty to the students, clients, and Frog Tutoring team. I have over eight years of experience in working with youth and in leading students to achieve goals. One of these highlights is working with the Institute of Reading Development. I gained over five hundred hours of training and teaching experience, and became an inspiring leader by taking the initiative and going the extra mile to help students and parents in each of my classes. I demonstrated skills of leadership by directing students with warmth and authority, and by leading thoughtful and productive discussions. I led by example by embracing hard work and motivating students to do the work necessary to succeed.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
During my senior year of high school I was able to be the Assistant Director of the Girl's Ensemble at the school. I taught a choir of nineteen high school girls every day, demonstrating strong classroom management, responsibility, communication, organization, and teaching skills. Developing an uplifting, loving environment and community of singers, and seeing the light in their eyes as they conquered new skills inspired me to continue to teach youth throughout my life.
