FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes I do with most jobs. I do a lot of jobs in my p/u where I charge $50 an hr for just me & the truck & if it requires me to have a helper I charge an extra $10 an hr. I charge $40-50 for local delivery of an item or 2 that I can handle myself in a p/u & adjust the price accordingly for longer distances. My standard moving fee is $100 an hr. That covers 2 movers & all supplies necessary for the move. We are professionals so we come prepared with shrink wrap, tape, furniture pads & straps for all moves. An additional $10 an he is required for a 3rd man & for each additional flight of stairs starting @ 3rd flr & up! $50 an hr to pack & unpack supplies not included! But they are available & will be charged accordingly. Junk removal I charge $400-500 per truckload & the higher end depends on the level of difficulty. That covers my fees for removal of the trash, help, truck, fuel & time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To put it simple to treat them as if they were a repeat customer. Make sure we're giving them white glove treatment if they're spending $50 or $5k!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Well as I stated earlier I come from a furniture delivery background. 1 year as a helper & 3 years as an independent contractor where I had to train my help. So when you're delivering furniture, the piece/pieces have to be in tact without flaw when delivered. I mean the customer just spent their hard earned money & expect their newly bought furniture to look like it did in the showroom/online. Not to mention when delivering the furniture to whatever location, there shouldn't be any damage to the house, apartment, place of business etc.... I mean this made me aware & prepare for hardwood floors, carpet, expensive rugs, paint on walls & ceilings & all potential hazards that exists! That's why I took on the mindset that I MUST treat every job as if it were my own items going in/coming out of my own house & that's what customers appreciate most about our work ethic!
