- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Resume work takes 1-4 hours on average to create and polish the resume, and cover letter. Editing books, novels, or memoirs takes a bit more time. I quote 2000 words/hour, but that really depends on what the writer's level is. One project I've worked on I edited 4k words/hour. That is why I offer a sample edit of 2-3 pages for both of us to understand what is more realistic. This also helps each other understand our styles, and if they are compatible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The 1-on-1 conversation is key to understanding what needs my customers have and how I may best help them. Reviewing the project or document also helps me understand where we currently are, and how to get to the finished project. With longer works, it is important for me to keep their voice and way of saying things, while still making it professional.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA and MA in English. I have taught for 15 years at university and colleges part time. I have taught a variety of classes, from basic English and Composition to advanced writing, as well as literature. All of these involved helping students improve their writing skills, and ability to express an argument. These all involve MLA formatting. I also have an MA in French, with a specialty in Linguistics. I completed research and analysis of the French language, especially with understanding how English speakers learn it. This involved APA formatting. Additionally, I am a hiring manager at a financial services company.
