- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Basically, the price consists of the following categories: 1) Design fee: flat rate, in accordance to event type and guest estimate 2) Labor (setup / strike): hourly rate 3) Material (purchase / rental): price of actual items such as props, displays, flowers, etc. 4) Delivery / Shipping: applies in some occasions 5) Travel: applies in some occasions
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We consider each event as a full artistic production. In order to execute an exceptional piece, we carefully go through months of design process. 1) Initial Consultation: discuss overall vision and scale 2) Site Visit 3) Brainstorming: gather inspirational images and share ideas 4) Mood Board: concept development 5) Sourcing: research on the best materials and providers 6) 1st Rendering: visualize first iteration of design 7) Revision 8) 2nd Rendering 9) Design Finalization 10) Fabricate / Rent / Purchase
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With a master’s degree in Scenic Design from Carnegie Mellon University, School of Drama, Christine started her career as a scenic designer for operas and plays.
