Introduction: Training with me is slightly different than working with other personal trainers. Unlike most, I graduated from Pacific University with my Bachelors in Exercise Science along with acquiring various other certifications. At Pacific, I was able to go through 4 years of hands on learning incorporating a wide range of subjects. From subjects like Anatomy, Biomechanics, and Exercise Physiology, I also gained knowledge about Exercise Psychology and Sociology, themes that are important in not just the physical activity aspect, but the mental and emotional aspects of health and fitness as well; things like, motivation, self-efficacy and burnout. I have over 6 years of experience training individuals one-on-one and 3 years of coaching basketball. I have serviced thousands personal training sessions and have written 200+ personalized programs. I was a 4 sport varsity athlete (volleyball, basketball, softball and track) in high school and played basketball for a year in college. My services are very personalized and structured around each individual based on their abilities and goals. Another thing that makes me different is that I was born without a left hand. This posed many challenges for me throughout my life when it came to sports and various weight training exercises, but it has also helped me greatly in widening my knowledge of exercise modifications and motivation tactics.
What I love about training is getting to know individuals on a personal level and learning about who they are. I enjoy sharing the knowledge I have regarding health and fitness with each and every person I train, as well as incorporating what they like to do into our workouts. I love helping individuals get from where they are now, to where they want to be in the safest but most enjoyable way possible, along with giving them the knowledge they'll need to do it on their own one day. Having the opportunity to help people transform their lives and to adopt a healthy lifestyle is something that makes what I do so rewarding. Some say that it's the trainer who changes lives but in reality, it's the client who changes the trainer's life.
