Introduction: I am a film wedding photographer based out of Providence, Rhode Island. I have lived here for most of my life, and though this is my home, traveling the world with my beautiful wife is what gives me life. It doesn't matter if we are traveling for weddings, engagements, or leisure. There's nothing like experiencing different parts of the world. I choose to shoot all of my work with film. Although some will say it is a lost art, I think there are actually few things that are as timeless as film photography. The representation of colors are stunning, and accurate. When you look at your wedding photos 50 years from now, you'll remember your day as if it were yesterday because film doesn't change! And because I can't see what I photograph immediately, it has made me extremely intentional about each photo I take. One of the things I always try to do is make you feel comfortable, beautiful, and excited to be in front of the camera. As someone who is always behind the camera, I know how hard it is to be photographed, but I also know how to bring out your true, genuine self.

My experience was just so much fun and easy! Starting that our engagement pictures were such an out of nowhere idea. Eliezer accommodated us quickly and worked with us to figure out a day soon after that in the same week. I was very nervous for the session because I had never taken professional pictures before. However Eliezer's easy going persona will make anyone feel at ease and comfortable in a very professional way. He is willing to work with your ideas while fusing his natural creative talent. Not only does he capture the feeling and moment, he also defines the phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words." In the end, our pictures came out simply wonderful. The wait was much quicker than expected considering the amount of pictures taken. My fiancé and I are very happy with our overall experience. We would highly recommend Eliezer to everyone and we can't wait for the big day!

Not enough good things can be said about Eli. Through every step of our big day, he was always there firstly: doing his job with an astounding amount of diligence, passion, focus, and excellence and secondly: assisting us with things during down time in the days previous that were beyond the job that he was there for. One scenario specifically that I remember was the night before the wedding. Eli and his lovely wife Savannah who happened to be our florist, were up till, from my knowing, past three in the morning working tirelessly helping set up the reception area. I went to bed and when I had woken up in the morning Eli and Savannah were some of the first people that I saw up working to make our wedding the best, and least stressful day for my wife and I and it truly was. I was convinced that there was no length that Eli and Savannah would not go to make sure that our wedding was flawless. While we were taking pictures Eli maintained an attitude of professionalism and also of fun and relaxation. He was always thinking one step ahead which made him very perceptible and able to foresee important events that even my wife and I did not think to deem important. Eli’s ability to create an atmosphere of joy and fun helped out with some of my family members who I know are generally camera shy come out of their shyness. At one point, I had these same camera shy family members and friends asking me when it would be their turn to pose in pictures for Eli. In every way Eli had exceeded my every expectation. Once we got our breathtaking photos back we were blown away by the ease in which billing, access to the photos, and follow up were handled. Overall, I would recommend Eli Defaria Photography to any friend, family member, or other wise. If you're looking for the best quality photography, the best quality service, and if your lucky, the best quality friend, it would be your biggest mistake to pass up an opportunity to work with Eli.

eli did an outstanding job taking pictures of my family. I couldn't be happier with the results. He was able to capture all the right emotions on our faces and even brought me to tears after I saw the sneak peeks. I would use him over and over again for any photography needs. Eli has such a fun-loving yet peaceful spirit about him. He put us at ease right away when he starting taking out pictures for our engagement shoot—and we had such a blast! We could tell instantly that he was filled with joy by his work. By the time our wedding came around, we felt comfortable with ourselves in front of the camera. He had an amazing eye, he is beyond gifted, and he sees the world from such a beautiful perspective; it’s reflected in his work and in how he interacts with the people he is photographing. We treasure our engagement and wedding photos so much and we feel so blessed and thankful that we had Eli as our photographer.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Although I have a base starting price, every wedding is different. That is why after getting to know you and your needs, I can give you an exact quote for your special day. A few things I factor in are whether or not you're also interested in an engagement session, how many hours of coverage you need, travel, etc. If you are looking to have a timeless and romantic feel to your photos, with vibrant and realistic colors that will always bring you back to your special day, get in touch! I'd love to know more about you.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to meet every potential client over some coffee, or tea. But if that is not possible due to distance, I will settle for a FaceTime or Skype chat. It's an important process in building a client relationship, which I value very much.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self-taught photographer with professional training in graphic design. I have shadowed some of the industry's leading photographers and learned the ins and out of a wedding and what it takes to document it flawlessly.
