Professional Tutoring and Exam Prep

Introduction: Open communication, technical know-how, and a true passion for education are the fundamental qualities on which I have grown my tutoring business. Over the past five years, I have helped more than 100 students gain admission to their dream colleges and have averaged a score increase of approximately 260 points for the SAT and 6.5 points for the ACT. I have personally played a role in the lives of students who have earned admission into such institutions as Stanford, Duke, UVA, Cal Tech, Georgia Tech, UNC, and UPenn. Over the years, I have developed a very efficient method for identifying and addressing student needs using a curriculum that is custom fit for each student. This curriculum includes a carefully proportioned combination of test taking strategies and academic development. The key to academic success, in my opinion, is confidence. This is why I recommend and administer benchmark practice tests for every willing student during the tutoring process. Whether the topic is algebra, geometry, chemistry, or exam prep, a transparent record of student progress provides a boost to student confidence. As confidence increases so does student motivation and interest. The result is a positive feedback loop that drives academic improvement. In this manner, I have watched countless students change from unmotivated, average performers to stars in the classroom. It is from this process that my passion for education was born.
