Introduction: We are a professional painting company that specializes in Interiors, Exteriors, Decks, Cabinets, and Epoxy Garage Flooring. We are able to handle large projects or small projects. We have been in business for over 10 years and have painted over 2,500 homes in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. We carry worker's compensation and liability insurance.
We have won the "Super Service" award on Angie's List for 4 years straight and the "Best of Home Advisor" award for the past 2 years. We carry a A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We have recently ranked in the Top 4 of all painting contractors in the Triangle by Indy Week Magazine.
We enjoy helping homeowners achieve their dream homes. Part of the American Dream is owning your own home and we would like to help each customer make the most of it. We feel like we are providing a great service that helps families enjoy the place where most of their memories will be made.
We recently joined Thumbtack so we haven't been reviewed on here very much yet. However, we have great reviews on many other sites!

We hired EYP to paint our kitchen and all of our hallway halls. They arrived right on time on the day the job was scheduled to be performed. The lead painter double checked with me the morning of to make sure both parties agreed on what was contracted to be painted. They did a great job taking their time to prep before beginning to paint. It took about 6 hours for them to paint two coats, which I thought was awesome timing! After the job was done the lead painter communicated that it would take a little time to dry and set and once that happened to let me know if I saw any areas where I would like for him to come back and touch up the paint. We did note a few areas in which the job could have been done better (a bit of bleedthrough or dribble beyond painter tape marks), but we ended up not calling them to come back because it was in areas that aren't easily seen. Overall, they did a great job on painting our walls.
We are rating this review 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because we have the following negative items to disclose. The cigarette butts that resulted from the team’s smoke breaks were thrown in our garbage can (no evidence that the smoke breaks were inside our house). We don’t smoke so when we went to open our trash can it was not a pretty smell. We communicated this to EYP and they constructively replied that going forward they would tell the team to take their cigarette butts with them. As for the cleanup inside our home, the team did a good job aside from our floors. There was a good bit of dirt leftover and boot prints on our floors, but typically with contractors we've had in our home, the floors are back as good as they found them. We communicated this to EYP and they took full responsibility and apologized that it wasn’t cleaned up more professionally. I would not hold these negative comments against them if I were looking to hire painters in the future. They were very knowledgeable and efficient in their work and the quality of the paint exceeded our expectations. I would likely hire them again.

If I could give 6 stars I would. These guys offer a great value, deliver great service, and I've been happy with the results. I've actually hired them to stain my deck as well. The did an awesome job on the interior of my new townhome in 3 days with the last minute request to paint my ceiling.
We've worked with Rob, the rep who came to our house twice now, and he really presents you with all the options and is very informative. We've used another painting company once and it was a huge mistake. Their focus seemed on delivering what my gf and I wanted, and making sure we got what they promised to deliver the first time.
While they are a tad pricier, but not the most expensive compared other companies we looked at. The customer service, follow up, and results will give you a peace of mind knowing your home is in good hands. No lap marks, even coats, and superb workmanship is what I expected and received. Way better than the hacks I used before who totally jacked up my deck and delivered horrendous service
Go with these guys and I guarantee you'll be pleased getting what you pay for.

Fantastic Job! Working with these guys was the best experience we’ve ever had with a contractor. We hired Express Yourself Paint just to paint our 1st floor Trim and walls. Then we added the kitchen cabinets. Then we added the entire house! Each addition was not an issue at all. Robert was very prompt in answering my emails.
When they began the project, they spent several days prepping the house. Our house was built in 1949, and the last paint job was terrible. Not only did they correct the previous mistakes, but helped with the age of the house, bringing in a carpenter to make necessary repairs. They brought in an interior designer to do a color consultation with us which was incredible. They were always on time. In fact, I'm going to have them come back and stain my fence and deck next spring.
This company has exceeded my expectations in quality and customer service. Express Yourself Paint is a 1st class painting company. Thanks Robert!

We've used Express Yourself Paint at least 5 times now. We had an epoxy garage floor put in 3 years ago. We had our garage, master suite, office, kitchen, and main entrance all repainted and all of the popcorn ceiling removed. In our master suite we also had the wallpaper removed. It took the painters about 3 days to complete and for the rest of the areas that I mentioned it took about 1 week to finish.
For years now I've been recommending them to many of my friends and family. My mother had her deck stained by them last year. Their staff are very professional and respectful and are easy to work with. I think their prices are on the higher end - but fair because they have a guarantee, insurance, and a great reputation.
For instance, while they were working in the kitchen they were able to work in a way that also allowed me to still occupy my kitchen while they were doing repairs. They also encourage you to inspect their work. That's the first time I've encountered that.

I honestly loved this company. They were professional and courteous. The price was reasonable and the quality of their work exceeded my expectations. Overall, I'm giving them 5 stars for a job well done.
