Introduction: Day of wedding coordination is something that many brides don't think they need until it's too late and they are stressed to the max on what is supposed to be the most beautiful and wonderful day of their lives. I enjoy day-of coordination because my sole purpose is to take all the stress away from the bride and groom and to ensure that their special day goes off without a hitch! Day-of wedding coordination typically involves timeline development and management as well as vendor relations. This means that I work closely with the bride and groom to develop a full minute-by-minute timeline for their big day -- from the time they wake up to the time they close their married eyes, they will have a written timeline to guide every move. This will keep the day organized and ensure guests get to enjoy every aspect of the wedding seamlessly. It also means that the bride and groom will not have to bear the burden of interacting with the many vendors on the day of their wedding -- after all, they should be busy getting ready for their big day and relaxing with their closest friends and family. I work to make sure each vendor is in on time and is set up correctly, as well as finalize any remaining payments due to the vendors. I typically arrive early in the day and stay throughout the event until it's over to ensure proper clean up, as well. Throughout the evening, I will be the person who makes sure the couple knows when to do the first dance, cake cutting, toasts, etc. I'll also be the person who makes sure they are FED and that their drinks stay full. My main goal is to take care of the couple and their guests. Being a part of a couple's special day is something I am truly passionate about. I enjoy knowing that my clients are happy and full of love, rather than being stressed out and worried about so many of the "little things" that could go awry on their big day. It's my sole purpose to make sure none of those things happen! Through extra attention to detail and an innate sense of organization, I ensure my couples get hitched without a hitch!

Stephanie has been a lifesaver throughout my wedding/event planning process. Our event is rather non-traditional, and with no experience in event planning or vendor management, I had no idea how to begin the organization process. Enter Stephanie! She has been amazing in terms of communication and flexibility - when I asked for help after trying to manage the planning alone, she stepped in and offered to take on responsibility for contacting vendors, requesting proposals, scheduling meetings with all parties and providing recommendations based on her extensive experience in managing events. I'm so grateful for her knowledge of local Raleigh vendors - from florists to linens, she has been an all-star in coordinating communications and contracts to ensure our event goes off without a hitch. Her communication style is succinct, yet kind; you can count on her to get what is needed in a very timely manner while still maintaining positive relationships with all involved in the process. Stephanie has graciously agreed to be our point person for all contractors and will even be on-site as needed the day of our event. This has tremendously reduced my wedding-related anxiety! The only thing that could have been done better is asking her to step in from the start!

Stephanie took the barely controlled chaos that is the wife and my's life and worked with us to put together an unbelievable wedding. Months later we still get complements on how nice our wedding was and how much fun people had and how smoothly it went. It was all thanks to Stephanie! We actually got to enjoy the day-of ourselves because she was so on top of everything. She even managed to stop a latecomer guest who was trying to enter the ceremony during the bridal precession... mental high-five as I saw that. She's also very kind and fun to work with.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I listen and advise. I want to get to know the couple on a personal level to make sure their wedding is as unique as they are. I also bring a certain level of ethos and understanding into the conversation from my years of experience in the industry. I can provide guidance and advice when needed on a variety of topics from venue selection to catering and decor.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have a Master's degree in Interpersonal Communication which enables me to foster and maintain an important symbiotic relationship with my clients. Wedding coordination is 50% organization and details and 50% client-coordinator relationship. Beyond that, I have been coordinating weddings and events both formally and informally for more than three and a half years. It's my true passion and I'm good at it, which is a plus for both of us!
