FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing depends on a few factors, including, but not limited to, lesson length, location, and payment schedule (how often you pay for lessons). Discounts are specifically offered for students that enroll for a full term (26 lessons), as opposed to lessons on a monthly basis. Lessons are not currently offered on a weekly basis. Also, discounts are offered for lessons that occur at Rudio Studio. instead of in your home.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, the first lesson includes an assessment an assessment of the new student's abilities, followed by a discussion of their goals, aspirations, dreams, etc. After the first lesson, the student and teacher plan the next steps, both within each lesson and across many lessons, and the student practices in between lessons to move forward with the plan. After twelve lessons or three months (whichever comes first), the student and teacher (and parent, if applicable) hold a conference to see if the students is happy with their goals and if smaller weekly goals are being met regularly.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I, Rudy, have a Bachelors in Music Education, and have completed the first level (of three) of the Kodaly Certification (I am not allowed to post a link in this section, but see the website of the Organization of American Kodaly Educators for more information). I also have five years' experience teaching music in public school, grades K-5. This allowed me the opportunity to distill music to its (four) most basic elements and communicate those elements simply and effectively.
