Introduction: Over the last 16 years, I have taught hundreds of children and adults piano and voice. I maintain an average of 35 or more students at one time. Once a student starts lessons with me, they typically remain with me for several years. My rates are competitive and fair.

Ms. Hand is a wonderful piano and voice teacher! I have taken lessons from her for almost a year and I am extremely pleased. In piano she focuses not only on technique but also on theory, and the book we have worked out of is at the appropriate level (something that is often difficult to find with older students). Along with working out of the book I love the fact that she is not against outside pieces. I have been able to play in any styles I have been interested in—everything from jazz to pop to classical. Ms. Hand is very knowledgeable in everything she does and has always been a help if I had any questions regarding technique or theory. She is very personable which is a huge confidence boost when in voice lessons especially since I am generally shy. Similar to piano, Ms. Hand has let me bring in outside songs for voice but we have also worked more ‘classically’ with solfège and other vocal exercises. I have advanced greatly since starting these lessons and I could not recommend her more highly! She has a genuine interest in all her students and has opened up so many opportunities for me that I could not be more thankful for!

By taking lessons from Amy Hand, my daughter Kristen has gone from knowing nothing about piano, to playing Scott Joplin Ragtime tunes in just over a year. Amy is a very talented, patient, and knowledgeable teacher and I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to learn piano.

My son has been taking lessons from Amy for a few years now and I must say that she has a gift that uniquely draws out his desire and talent for music that affects his attitude everyday. He is so happy to go to his piano lessons. And I find him humming the pieces she has him practice during the week. She is a great teacher!

My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Amy for a little over a year. At just 5 years old, she is already reading music! Amy is a very patient and kind teacher that has a knack for teaching music in a way that helps even the littlest ones remember things easier. I'm so thankful my daughter has been given such a strong start!

Amy is an excellent teacher - my 10 year old son has been taking piano lessons with her for 2 years and is doing wonderfully. She is very patient and encouraging. My son and I both love Amy - she does a wonderful job and truly loves working with her students!!
