From the first moment we started our engagement session, it was clear that Emily was both incredibly gifted in and deeply passionate about her craft! It felt like as she was taking our pictures, she was celebrating with us. She struck a balance that is not easy: both providing suggestion when needed if she had a specific vision in mind for a photo, but also giving my fiancée and I space to just enjoy ourselves while she followed along, capturing special moments. I got to see a couple glimpses as she showed us ("Guys, you have to see this one! It's so beautiful!"), but I cannot WAIT to see the whole session! I have no doubt at all that my future wife and I will cherish these moments she has captured.

Emily gave us an amazing mini-session. In just 20 minutes she made a connection to each one of my kids and made them and the adults, too, feel at ease and brought out our natural smiles. It was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be booking Emily for our next family photos!

Emily has taken maternity, newborn, 6-month baby, and fall photos of my family, and I could not be happier with the photos! I am continually impressed with her professionalism and ability to create beautiful shots no matter what the setting. Two of the sessions were on cloudy days, and one of them (newborn photos) I did not feel well enough to leave the house. This did not prevent her from capturing amazing shots of our family -- she knows what will look best in every setting and puts her clients at ease while she works. I am grateful for the way she has captured some precious moments for me, my husband, and my daughter!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love meeting new clients! When a potential new client contacts me, I will usually ask them to fill out a simple questionnaire that will tell me the basics of their portrait needs. Following their response, we work together to see if their desires and my style line up with each other. From there, if we both feel it's a great match, we start planning the perfect photo session for the client!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of the Motherhood Anthology photography group, and also attend yearly conferences to continue my education in this field I love so much!
