I was born and raised in Shanghai and I graduated from Saint Olaf College in 2010. I have been working as an entrepreneur, Chinese tutor, language and cultural consultant in the Twin Cities for 9 years. I have worked with students ranging in age from 4 year-old beginners to 75-year-old professionals. I have worked with students from all across the states.
I have given Chinese language lessons to more than 800 students from various schools in Minnesota including Saint Paul, Academy, The Blake School, Yinghua Academy, St. Paul Academy, Hamline University, Breck School, University of Minnesota, St. Olaf College, Concordia Language Villages, etc.
My adult students range from business leaders at the Apple Store of Minneapolis, to a US diplomat in Taiwan, to English teachers currently working in China, to international lawyers, to a multinational newspaper owner from South Carolina. Through my business, I have also provided cultural and language consulting to various organizations including the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2016 and 2017.
Over the past few years, I have developed a consistent and effective method to help students who struggle with character memorization, tone recognition, and sentence building. My Mandarin Chinese programs include face-to-face private Chinese lessons both online and in person.

Since 2017, I design, write, narrate, produce and update my animated Youtube video series “Chinese Grammar Simplified”. By January 2018, the channel has generated over 283,957 total views, over 786,275 minutes of total watch time, and over 10,500 total subscribers. PRICING:
My one-on-one private program starts at $600 for 10 one-hour sessions. I’m happy to offer a discounted trial lesson at $50 for one hour so you can get a sense of my teaching style and I can learn more about you.
I provide and share all my class materials, audio recordings, online flashcards, and class notes via Google Drive for every lesson. There is generally no need for note-taking during the class since I type up all the notes needed -- I want you to spend every minute practicing and improving your skills.
