FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The price of Durso Painting’s services is typically higher than most competing contractors, and the reason is not that our rate is higher, but that we take more steps in preparation, do more careful application and more cleanup. For example, most painters’ steps for a basic repaint of a wall would be lightly sanding the wall, fixing holes, and applying two coats of acrylic paint. Durso Painting does a very thorough sanding of the wall, removing ALL bumps and texture from previous paint jobs, all using state-of-the-art HEPA Certified dust extraction sanding equipment which results in a dustless environment. We then apply a quality high-build primer to the wall so that the wall surface, now porous and broken up from being sanded, is sealed BEFORE our finish paint is applied. That way the wall the totally smooth, adhesion of the finish paint is as good as it possibly can be, and the first coat is not used to seal the wall surface so you get two full thickness coats for the finish. Best adhesion, most durable finish, most even finish, and done in a way that keeps your home clean.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In November 2017 I was named a Certified Professional Painter by Fine Paints of Europe. After using the products on my own and having one of the handful of Master Certified painters become a mentor/coach for around a year, I was invited to FPE in Vermont to receive formal introduction to all their product lines and training in best application practices as well as good business ethics. I maintain close contact with the FPE community as we are all supporting each other in our pursuit of being the best painters we can be.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve painted for low income single parents, heart surgeons, the president of a $100M company, and everyone in between.
