FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Being that the music business has changed drastically over the last 10-15 years, I've adapted my pricing to accommodate those changes. A.) Vocal only recording (singing): when the client has the music already and only needs to record their vocals, it's $25 per hour with a two hour minimum. This rate is mainly for singing vocalist as they usually require a little more time than rap artist. B.) Vocal only (Rap): the client has the music already is $25 per hour with a two hour minimum. C.) Vocal lessons (up to intermediate level and ability) are $25 for 30 - 40 minutes. D.) Mixing: $25 for two hours depending on the complexity of the mix, which I discuss with the client before accepting and proceeding. E.) Mastering: $40 for up to eight songs, once again, depending on the complexity, which I discuss with the client before accepting and proceeding.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Start with a consultation with artist to find out the direction they want to go with their project. Also, try and establish what it is that they are seeking from me and the best way that i may assist them.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've attended the Audio Engineering Institute and have apprenticed under many well established engineers and producers. I've recorded at Goodnight studio's in Dallas, TX. I've sat with "Big Bass Brian" at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles, CA; I've been mentored by Kirt Whipfli (Guitarist from the band Celtic Frost) musical director for San Antonio's Fiesta Celebration. Been mentored by Hime Lagurela in engineering. This is just a short list as well as over 20 years experience.
