I had this mystery "Hot Water Bank" it's labeled GE - (waterless water box) in a closet. David was able to tell me it's actually not being used as a water heater. Rather it was installed when the home was built (by a builder who I think was super conscientious about everything) in 1986. He had this installed to cool the outside HVAC unit and make it last longer! Must be working because it's a 32 year old unit still doing fine! No one else had understood what this was or how it was wired and plumbed in. Thanks David!!

He knew what the strange “water bank” is being used for - as a cooler for the HVAC system- probably why it’s lasted 32 years!
