- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started out as an actor who particularly loved musical theater. When my schedule prevented me from acting, I began playing piano/keyboard in pit bands instead. This led to time playing piano for auditions and rehearsals, where I first witnessed excellent vocal coaching. I have had the privilege of learning from several brilliant vocal coaches and music directors while receiving my degree in composition and psychology from Stanford University. In my last term there, I co-taught a class in musical theater acting and singing, a class which I piloted and helped develop.
