Introduction: For starters: my longtime private voice and acting student, Austin Scott, is currently starring ON BROADWAY as Alexander Hamilton in, yes, “Hamilton“! I was his only voice and acting teacher since he was 12. Another long time student, Kristina Ho, who started studying with me when she was 6, can now be seen in a recurring role in the iconic TV series, “Power Rangers, as Betty. Other students can currently be seen on Broadway, Off Broadway, in starring roles in national commercials, recurring roles in sit-coms, Episodic television, webseries and in principal roles in major feature films, as well as viral music videos (Disney), major brand national print campaigns, and heard on national and regional voiceover campaigns. Seasoned veteran of Stage, Small & Large Screen, Voiceover and Concerts, Bettina Devin remains a working actress/singer whose students benefit directly from her past and current experience. Best known for her role as Idina Menzel's Mom in the film version of the Pulitzer Prize winning play, "Rent" (directed by Chris Columbus), Bettina is a working actress (as well as casting director and producer) in all aspects of the entertainment industry, with in-person classes in Marin and Los Angeles. She teaches all over the world via the internet. Being able to help people gain solid skills to up their self-confidence in whatever they are attempting is extremely gratifying. Whether it be for actors on stage or on camera or in a recording booth, singers, speakers, whatever... sharing my knowledge (after a lifetime in the performing arts) of how to best triumph over our sometimes, seemingly paralyzing fears, feels like a solid way in which I can contribute to the world.
