- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I will work with you to agree on fair pricing. (1) Typically a $40 call out including 1 hour of time and then $30 per hour after the first hour with all materials and rental equipment (if any) provided at "cost plus 10%." (2) I am also open in many cases to a lump sum bid with a NTE (Not To Exceed) max amount if there is a clear scope of work with minimal risk of change. (3) I prefer payment in full upon work completion. I prefer cash or credit card payment through the "Square" secure mobile credit card reader service which provides an immediate receipt via email or text.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Meet / discuss your goals and challenges, review and agree on the scope of work, timing, access, roles and costs. Everyone involved must share the same "picture" of what a successful outcome is before starting. If I cannot perform the service then I will tell you and part friends!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
40 years experience. A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
