FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am not a "Cheap Handyman".. My rates are mid range between the highest and the lowest.. I do give a 10% discount to Military Vets and Senior Citizens. Beware of CHEAP Handymen, most are UN-experienced and/or will cut corners to makeup for their losses, by using cheap products or parts, etc, etc. I once hired a handyman to help me with a project when I was sick, he charged me $55.00 for the first hour and $40.00 per hour for the duration of the job.. His original career was a wall paper hanger, so he had little experience with my project, I wound up supervising the job... His rates weren't too bad, however, his work was at best, "OK".. I would not hire him again... So, don't low ball yourself into a botched project and wind up unhappy with the results.. Remember, you really do "get what you pay for!"...
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually the project starts with a phone call to discuss the EXACT needs of the customer, which most times requires a Visual Inspection. It is very hard to give an accurate estimate if you don't actually see and understand the project at hand.. Pictures are good for certain projects but most require a total visual picture and also the verbal desires of the customer..
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
