- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My design rate is $120 hr There are many variables to consider in Graphic Design work. Some examples are, how many images, will images need to be sourced, original image quality, editing and or retouching, text copy and editing, final output, quantity of potential applications and sizes, overseeing printing and any potential hand work applied, amount of pages, packaging, etc.... For Interior Design work some of the variable can be: over seeing entire project, finding general contractor, will client be looking to purchase materials on their own and interested in having designer more as a consultant, etc..... Given all this, I do have some flat rate pricing as starting estimates below. STARTING ESTIMATES: LOGO: $1000. 3 options, choose 1, max 2 revisions within scope of chosen design. SMALL PACKAGE: $1500. Concept branding, logo design, 2 buisness card for 2 different titles. LARGE PACKAGE: $2500. Concept branding, logo design, letterhead & envelope, 4 buisness card for 4 different titles. CATALOG: $250. per page (could vary based on number of images) Basic image editing, layout and design, preparing files for printing, color optimization, font optimization. BROCHURE: $500. standard bi-fold 8.5 x11 (could vary based on number of images) Basic image editing, layout and design, preparing files for printing, color optimization, font optimization. *** Prices increase based on size, folds, inserts and cuts. EVENT POSTERS: $480. simple 8.5x11 Basic image editing, layout and design, preparing files for printing, color optimization, font optimization. INTERIOR DESIGN: $120 hour. Initial space planning WEB DESIGN: $3000. basic 6 page Basic image editing, layout and design, preparing files for web, color profile, font story.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I start with a design brief, a detailed questionnaire used to get as much information up front. This usually will include a phone conversation. After all the information is received, I will generate a contract detailing the scope of the project/s, projected cost/s, timeline/s, liability and extra considerations. These first two steps are very important to minimizing additional costs, missed deadlines and allowing time for elements within the project that may need more time. When contract is signed I will require 50% payment. Once the payment is received the design process will begin. When the initial round of samples have been developed, I will send you preliminary concepts. You will have a set time to respond along with an established set of revision rounds included in the cost. A “revision round” allows as many changes as you would like to see, as long as they're given to us all at the same time and within the initial scope. Example: Logo Design 3 samples supplied in 1-10 business days. Client will have 4 days with which to respond Client can choose 1 design with 2 revision rounds, or 2 designs with 1 revision. Each project and design service have their own set of guidelines to be established, but will generally follow the same format with timeline allowances. When the project is complete the client will accept and sign off and final payment will be due. Upon receipt of final payment client will receive final files. Because design is fluid there may be some wonderful surprises that show themselves in the process that I will be sharing with you. This is a process that takes good communication and my goal is to always supply that.
