Introduction: I am a former social worker and current teacher with 4 years teaching experience. I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham method as well as Lindamood-Bell. Teaching is my passion. I love getting the "light bulb" moment where students understand concepts they have been struggling with. I enjoy helping struggling students get hopeful about their abilities. Sometimes students need more individualized attention than teachers are able to give. They need to be directly taught and then get practice and reinforcement. I love helping students get excited about learning! It is so rewarding to me to have students tell me their grades went up as a result of our work together.

To work as an educator is more than lesson plans, grades, giving assessments, and completing Individual Educational Plans. It requires a special heart. A heart that Shaun Saville has and is unexplainable. To know her is to love her for her personality that is radiant and her drive not only for the students she teaches, but the people who she comes in contact with. She inspires and encourages individuals to exceed far beyond their expectations. In return she asks for nothing, but her smile is an indication she her heart is glad. Her heart is not happy to be proud, but a heart that is glad that she has had the opportunity to have an impact in someone's life. Her reward is that you have succeeded. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her in a business and private manner. I wish her nothing but an abundance of joy, peace, and happiness today, tomorrow, and forever.

It is my pleasure to give this recommendation for Ms. Saville. She tutored my daughter afterschool for a year. During that time, my daughter was able to become a much better reader. I've watched Ms. Saville interact with children in the classroom. They get very excited and eager as they discover how much fun it can be to learn. Her ability to engage them is what an educator is all about. The benefits can only expand on a one-to-one tutoring basis.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually assess the student using a variety of tools, in order to know their strenghts and deficits. I then discuss these with the parent and determine what the parents want to prioritize.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's Degree in Social Work as well as Master's in Special Education. I also am qualified to teach English as a Second Language.
