FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to discuss pricing directly. I base pricing on the type of shoot, length of time shooting, location, number of photos requested and length of time post-processing (editing). I am very reasonable and willing to work on a sliding scale but I will not undervalue myself or my work. I put a great deal of time, effort and myself into my work. If you are not satisified with your product, I will do the shoot again at no additional charge or if it is an even that can't be done again, alternative compensation will be written into the contract. I am confident you will be happy with my product the first time around.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We make initial email contact and I send a few pre-screening questions to the potential client with some basic background info about myself in order to determine if we are a good match for each other. After collecting the pertinent info (event/shoot type, dates, times, location, etc) we can set up a time to meet in person if necessary to discuss any further details or review samples. I will then send a contract to secure the job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a background in social work & crisis management, management, child-care and presently work in the fitness field. Although these do not directly relate to photography, there are many transferable skills. Being able to maintain a calm presence when nerves are high is essential to capturing quality photos. I am able to take charge of a situation and appropriately direct subjects. I am also able to read situations well and adapt my approach dependent on the client, subject, lighting and location. Working in the fitness industry has taught me to effectively coach movement and better understand the body. All of these are important when shooting. I took photography classes in high school and college but most of what I have l learned in regards to actually taking pictures comes from hands on experience and networking with other photographers. I have a natural ability to see the light and through extensive practice, volunteer work, and research I create visually stunning and emotion filled photography.
