FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is all project based, and is evaluated on estimated time to completion, the amount of content available from the client, and if third-party technology needs to be integrated (i.e. Google Analytics, MailChimp, etc.). Quotes on projects are fixed; if I decide to add features to your site that will benefit your business (which is very typical) the price remains the same! I work this way so that the clients know up front exactly what they will be paying but it allows me the opportunity to incorporate beneficial features if they seem applicable during the course of the site's creation. Why would I do more than expected? I want my clients to be so thrilled with the work that I do that they remain a loyal client during the entirety of their business! A payment of 1/3 of the quoted price must be paid prior to the start of each of the phases of the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A phone or in-person conversation begins the working process. I have a questionnaire that I use to evaluate the client's target audience, requirements for the site, business goals, and timeline. Once the site expectations are defined, a contract is created and signed by both the client and myself. The site creation process is done in three phases. The first phase deals with gathering content for the site, creating the overall layout scheme for that content, and creating any third-party accounts needed for the project, such as Google Analytics or Mailchimp. In the second phase, I create the home page in order to establish the overall look of the site. It is at this point that a revision may be made. In the third and final phase, the remaining site pages (if needed) are created. The site is then uploaded to the hosting server or otherwise made available to the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I previously worked in software development for an engineering firm, primarily developing for government contracts.
