Introduction: I have been training dogs professionally for 7 years. I believe in using positive reinforcement when training. I do not use fear or intimidation when training. I believe that a dog that is well trained us a joy to you and your family. I believe that training should fun for you and your dog. Dogs have so much unconditional love and they really do want to make their owners happy. Giving the owner the tools to work with their dog and watching both become a team is very rewarding.

Denise was a very sweet lady, but I feel she misrepresented herself. She told me she was a positive reinforcement trainer who used no means of fear, intimidation, or punishment. However, Denise depends on remote collars (they are called shock collars, no matter what you say) for her training "program." She gave no explanation even after some prying about how she trains, or what type of positive reinforcement she uses; she simply said the collar works wonders. According to the AKC, no remote (shock), prong or choke collars of any kind should be used on dogs. It has been scientifically proven that true positive reinforcement techniques are the most effective in training reliable behaviors in all animals. The use of abusive collars eliminates trust between you and your dog. Do some research before choosing a trainer, and please don't let someone convince you it's okay to inflict pain on your dog. Trust your gut. It feels wrong because it is.
