Introduction: Mandy Black has been teaching lessons for voice, guitar, and piano for over 16 years. She holds a degree in Music from North Central University, where she graduated at the top of her class. She has studied and taught all genres of music including: Classical, Contemporary, Opera, Musical Theatre, Church Worship, and Pop. Her teaching experience includes: - 16 years of experience teaching voice, guitar, and piano lessons. - Music Instructor for 7 years at Hills Academy of Music in Torrance, CA. - Music Instructor for 3 years at The European School Of Music in Palos Verdes, CA - Music Director at Kings Christian School in Chico, CA for 2 years. - Private Music Instructor for 7 years - Piano/Theory Instructor through WOVEN (With One Voice Energizing Neighborhoods) in St. Paul, MN for 2 years. Her Awards include: -Deans list for all 4 years of Enrollment at North Central University -Graduated Magna Cum Laude from NCU. -Graduated with a 4.0 in the Music Program at NCU. -Minnesota Fine Arts Festival: Awarded Superior ratings and invited to Nationals 2 years in a row in Vocal Solo, Duet, and Songwriting Categories. - She has released 2 professionally recorded albums and her music can by found on iTunes. Her Skills & Qualifications include: -Proficient in voice, guitar, and piano. -Remarkable patience and communication skills to be able to relate with young students and those with special needs. -Over 10 years of teaching experience. -Deep and genuine passion for music. -Thorough knowledge of teaching methods and curriculum that are effective for both individual and group lessons. - Dynamic stamina and energy to keep students engaged and motivated during lessons. -Strong Willingness to continue to grow as an instructor and try new methods. The thing I enjoy the most about teaching music is having the ability to pass on my passion for music to my students. Music has been my passion ever since I was a young girl, so to have the opportunity to mentor, inspire, and train young musicians is such a joy and honor.
