FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have standard pricing that provides the basis for all of my shoots, but those prices inform rather than define what the customer pays. For example, my baseline wedding package starts at 1299, but that price is based off certain assumptions. For example, let's say you have a limited budget of say 800. If your wedding is small and simple and your needs are not as comprehensive as the 1299 package, then we may be able to work with your budget. So be sure to set up that initial consultation, even if you think you can't afford the service.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with any customer, I like to set up an initial consultation to determine the exact needs of the client, sign the photography agreement and to schedule a date for the photo shoot. If this is just a simple shoot, this can be done over the phone. At that time, I will try to ascertain your vision and aesthetics, and give you some tips for a successful photography session. After that you can either schedule an appointment to see the proofs, or you can view them on-line on my website- all ordering of prints is done via the website.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing photography about 18 years ago when my oldest child was born. I was handed a big check for a video camera and my wife and I had to decide whether we wanted to shoot hours of baby video which no one would ever watch or if we (I ) would instead learn to take beautiful baby photos. The still camera won!
