FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes and No. It does depend on the volume, but weight is also a big factor sing the local landfill charges by weight. Our minimum pickup charge is $75. I would say they average job that we do is about $200. Thank would be enough fill about 1.5 to 2 times the capacity of a pickup bed. We do larger clean outs as well. We recently did a really large job in Vallejo that was $5,200. I was a huge project that took about a week to complete. A foreclosed property that the people abandoned everything they owned and left the country. A weird situation that the bank was more than willing to pay us to clean up. Scrap metal is picked up for free depending on what exactly it is.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm not sure any education is relevant to Junk Hauling. I do have a BS Degree in Business Management. I have worked in several career areas. I was in the military, a software applications engineer, own a construction company, and also the junk hauling business. I love what I do.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I own a small construction company and I had all the equipment I needed to do junk hauling already. I did a lot of hauling and clean outs with the construction company for Realtors and I saw a great opportunity in Junk Hauling. Its a lot of fun. Hard work, but fun.
