FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Dinner parties vary and standard pricing is hard to do without a feel for budget, courses, style of food, etc. For weekly meal preps, $12-15 per person is a good average plus groceries and gas. Bartending for events begins at $175 for a few hours plus set-up and tidying.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For personal chef services, we would discuss your dietary concerns and select a menu that pleases you. We would determine drop off or in-house needs. For private chef services, we would discuss the event and I would consult, if desired. I would handle the necessary shopping. I would also request a visit to see the cooking area and determine additional equipment needs. For cooking lessons, we would discuss guests and cooking space and determine an appropriately challenging menu. For bartending (as an add-on or stand-alone service), we would discuss the ambiance you're looking for in your event as well as drink preferences. I can provide a range of bar setups from well bar to specialty drinks.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Certified Culinarian with the American Culinary Federation. In addition to my degree in Culinary Arts, I also have 15 years of classroom teaching experience in English and History as well as Culinary Arts. I'm also a professional bartender with Techniques of Alcohol Management certification. Other credentials include ServSafe food safety certification.
