Christina Goldstein says, "Chef Shan is a miracle worker! I was first introduced to her meal prep services which were a true delight - I could finally enjoy a convenient, nourishing and truly DELICIOUS meal at work. Then I had the pleasure of enjoying her holiday boxes - so much in fact my family and I no longer cook Christmas dinner and ALL of us (vegetarians, vegan, and meat eaters alike) are able to enjoy. This past weekend, we had the chefs kiss, Chef Shan catered my Dads 70th birthday party. Not only was it truly his FIRST birthday party all about him, he could actually eat every single item on the menu. While my immediate family has always had dietary restrictions, our friends & extended family do not. EVERYONE raved about the food and quite a few said their whole view of plant based cooking changed. They never knew it could taste so good! Chef Shan was the perfect partner - a patient, kind, professional with a creative vision. I am SO grateful for her, her business but most of all her beautiful spirit. Chef Shan feeds your belly but is also so great for your soul. Her exceptional service & beautiful smile are the icing on the cakedo yourself a favor and reach out to her today!!!"See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class youโ€™re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
