Introduction: I have thirty years of experience teaching English (rhetorical writing, creative writing, grammar and literature), French, and Spanish, and thirty years of experience editing publications including academic theses and dissertations. I love languages and I love facilitating people's use of language, especially youth. I believe that young people deserve every opportunity to develop strong reading and writing skills, as they are skills that will be necessary throughout their lives, regardless of what they do. I sent Tracy a rough draft of a paper I'd been writing for an English thesis seminar, and was absolutely thrilled with the results! Tracy was wonderful to work with. She was very thorough, meticulous and very easy to get along with. I provided a copy of a very outdated resume and she worked wonders with it. It now looks very professional, detailed, tailored and free of grammatical errors. I was absolutely delighted with the results! What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have an hourly rate for tutoring which may change slightly depending on travel distance. For editing, I have a per-double-page rate with a reduction in rate for longer documents. For resumés, I have a flat rate that includes three cover letters.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to listen so I can get to know the customer a little and get to know his or her needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish Literature and three decades of experience teaching high school English (rhetorical and creative writing, grammar and literature), Spanish and French. I have taught languages to adult learnings as well. I have master's degree in education, supervision and administration. I have been working in schools (private and public in Washington, DC) as a teacher and an administrator for thirty years.
