FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Generally I charge a flat rate of $30/hr, but willing to negotiate one-time payments for specific projects or mixing/mastering services.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically my client will have a goal in mind for their project. From there I set up a time-frame and budget, where negotiations and a contract are written. In terms of production I work throughout the following: *Tracking - Lay down the basic fundamentals of the song (if no previous recordings are brought in ahead of time). This includes drum, guitar, and vocal tracks. *Tracking II - Once the song has become more established, more elements can be brought in. This includes bass, backup vocals, any other external instruments, etc. *FX/Mixdown - After all has been laid out, effects like reverb, compression, EQ, and panning are added. Levels are adjusted and headroom is added to prevent clipping. *Mastering - Once the overall track sounds great, mastering services are needed. I prefer to do the mastering myself, but using external sources are another option. Throughout the process I tend to ask the client a lot of questions to make sure they are satisfied with their product. If you're not happy, I'm not happy.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
* Nominated best Sacramento producer for the 2015 Sammies' Awards * >10 years of music/production experience * Musical background includes piano, guitar, bass, drums, synths, vocals
