FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
30 minute lesson: $20 45 minute lesson: $30 60 minute lesson: $40 Please note that this is my standard minimum pricing. Any increase in these prices reflects an increase in my costs (ie, studio space rental, pianist costs, etc.).
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's very important that student and teacher have a good rapport, so I like to spend the first few minutes of the first lesson getting to know one another before diving into the voice. We might discussing the student's goals, previous musical experience (if any), or the types of music they like to sing. I usually ask students to sing something at their first lesson - it can be anything! I just want to hear your voice in action. We'll then do some exercises and start to explore the basics of vocal technique.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to my university training, I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), which provides many resources for me as a teacher and also performance opportunities for my students. I have attended many seminars and workshops, including Bel Canto Can Belto (2015, 2013), Lessacs Voice Workshop (2015), Rock the Audition Class (2015), Natalie Weiss Pop Riffing Workshop (2015), NATS National Workshop (2014), and the Schreyer Institute for Excellence in Teaching.
