FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing in my new studio is based on how many times per week you are training. The more times you train, the less expensive each session becomes. Also the fees are monthly. Semi-private sessions (2 people) will be less expensive per person.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I meet with a new client I like to get as much information about them as possible, so sitting down and talking to them for 30-60 minutes is not unusual. I like to know health history, career, activities, goals, eating habits, strengths/weaknesses and just generally getting to know the person. Usually during that initial meeting is when we really see if there is a good connection and if I am the right person for them. I always give the client the option of whether or not we go through the process of weight/measurements/bodyfat testing, which is considered their first session. I believe that while it is important to know your body and health, I don't believe the number on the scale defines the client, for example, and many women choose not to do those. Overall optimal health and well being are very important. Educating a client on making lifestyle changes and to embrace and work with the body they were given to achieve their own success is vital. I also stress throughout the process how important communication is between myself and my client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I always keep my certifications up-to-date. It is very important to continue learning and refreshing. I go to workshops, do a lot of reading and try new things in the gym. I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist with NASM; I have a Yogafit Level 1 certificate and a Advanced Pilates Reformer certificate through NETA.
