Introduction: I am a life-long learner and believe everyone deserves to live their happiest, healthiest life. I am a Level 2 STOTT Pilates Instructor, certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a MELT Method Instructor. In October I will be certified through Pilates for MS and other Neurological Conditions. I love connecting with people and helping them achieve their goals. I have long term clients that I have been working with for over 10 years so they become like family. I'm grateful to have a career that I get so much satisfaction from and am able to share my passions with others.

I’m a masters athlete (cyclist) and like many cyclists who have literally decades on the saddle & racing, I’ve had my share of aches and pains-primarily due to overuse and bad posture. I heard about the MELT method and was intrigued, especially since I was having shoulder and neck issues that had been responsive to PT but my progress had reached a plateau and the self treatment aspect of MELT was a big draw. It not only was addressing some of the things my PT was, but I could do it myself to maintain the health I had restored! So when I heard about a MELT workshop being offered after our spin class at The Wheel Thing in La Grange I signed up to learn more. Maria is knowledgeable, and knows her stuff. It all was a lot to take in at once but she was patient and very helpful. Like anything else worth doing it takes practice, and that’s why I’m going to sign up for another workshop as a refresher. It has been helpful for me so I want to make sure I’m performing some of the exercises correctly, and get some help with some specific ones for my problem areas. Maria just doesn’t “teach” MELT, she is a cyclist and uses MELT herself so she had a really good understanding of what a cyclist like myself needed. She is personable, professional, and has a talent for relating to her clients. John Deifel

Maria is a phenomenal personal trainer! She genuinely cares about the overall health of her clients. With a keen interest in each person’s fitness goals as well as a sensitivity to physical limitations, Maria develops tailored, comprehensive plans for exercise. Additionally, she promotes healthy eating and happily shares recipes upon request. Maria is always totally focused on her clients during appointments. Outside appointments, she devotes time to researching the best course of exercise for each individual’s needs and invests in educational opportunities. Maria frequently asks for honest feedback. She is passionate about providing the highest level of fitness experience to her clients.

I just LOVE working with Maria! I take Pilates, personal training, and Melt classes from her. Maria is extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and professional in her craft. I’m gaining amazing results with every workout. More importantly, the back pain issue that I had when I began working with Maria is practically non-existent. Maria is great. She really knows her stuff! Very qualified for what she teaches and does it in a very clear, easy to follow manner. I would highly recommend her as a Pilates instructor.

Maria is an excellent Pilates instructor! She really makes sure you are understand everything as you are learning. Her instructions are clear and precise. Her attention to form is impeccable. She challenges you, but never pushes beyond your ability or comfort. She is friendly and respectful of your time. Trying to get as much done in each session as possible. I always leave feeling a little stronger and a little taller!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Absolutely! I attend workshops and seminars every year. Technology is changing at a rapid pace and allows us to know so much more about the human body now than even a few years ago. The MELT Method is a new technique that deals with the fascia, more specifically the connective tissue and the nervous system. This is something so new few people are even aware that they have connective tissue let alone that it is the source of their wellness and vitality.
