If we are a match an in person home consultation is scheduled to continue getting to know each other, explore goals, expectations, the process of becoming and remaining organized, we will tour the home revealing all storage places such as cabinets, drawers, closets, garage, attic/basement, etc; I will take before photos to be used only for the clients benefit to track & reveal progress and together we will discuss a price estimate and schedule our first session.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice make sure to ask your Professional Organizer what his/her specialty is and who his/her ideal clients are and if the answer is no specialty and anyone--do not hire that person. All the experienced Professional Organizers I know, including myself, have certain skill sets(specialties) and have discovered who our ideal clients are. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your Professional Organizer and that your needs are within her/his abilities and preferences. A good match is key to success!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish customers knew that there is nothing shameful about having clutter or lacking organization and that organizational skills can be learned, you don't have to be a "neat-freak" or "natural-born organizer" to develop habits and systems that bring more order and serenity to your life.
