Introduction: ~Are you a singer/songwriter who wants to accompany yourself at writers nights and showcases? ~Are you a guitar player who wants to master another style? ~Do you want to start playing at a professional level? ~Have you been frustrated with other conventional, confusing and difficult methods? ~Are you a beginner who wants to learn in a fun an encouraging environment? I offer beginner to advanced guitar and piano lessons for all styles and ages. As a professional, touring guitarist with over 25 years of performance experience, I specialize in helping musicians find the most simple path to successfully play their instrument. Each lesson is tailor-made for the student. I have spent my entire life learning everything I possibly could about the guitar and all of the different styles and techniques. I've found that there are a lot of confusing, roundabout, difficult methods that end up frustrating the player so much that they give up. There IS an easier way to play! It shouldn't be frustrating to learn an instrument. My passion for music is evident in every lesson as you learn to master everything from the basic to the most complex chords. Skot was great, very patient with me as a beginner. I learned a lot in a short amount of time. Plan on continuing my lessons with him in the future.

Scott is the man. Very knowledgeable, I learned more about how the guitar actually works in one free trial lesson than I did in years of trying to teach myself. I'll keep it short because lessons are ongoing but definitely super fun. Excited to continue.

Having little experience in guitar, Skot was able in one lesson to teach me a 5 chord song using some tricks and easy transitions used my todays top platers. I highly recommend him.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I offer a complimentary lesson for all new students so I can understand their exact needs. Then, we discuss how I can most effectively help and make a game plan to achieve both short and long term goals. Every lesson is tailored specifically to the student. If the student wants to learn simple ways to accompany themselves, we work on variations of the common chords. If they want to learn new strumming patterns, we work on rhythm and coordination skills. If I'm working with a professional artist, we find a way to make their particular style even more interesting, consistent and complex.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Guitar Performance at New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Private and Ensemble Lessons with: Jackie McLean, Dave Santoro, John McNeil, Ran Blake, George Russell, Kenny Werner, Pat Pattison, and Mike Doyle.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I work with everyone from beginners to professional musicians, and have had incredible performance and teaching experiences with students and artists from all over the world. Since I've been based out of Nashville, I've worked with a lot of singer/songwriters teaching them how to accompany themselves. As a songwriter myself, it's exciting to see their ideas finally come to life. I am also frequently hired to play in bands of all genres and to accompany artists at their shows or in the studio.
