FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
See process above for pricing. Prices are standard within a framework of job scope.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I get together with them to determine their needs (likes and dislikes with their current kitchen, budget, desires for look and function of new space). Then I want to know why they want to use a designer and what characteristics they are looking for in a designer. If I'm a fit for the job, I will generally take measurements of the space, and once design criteria are established I draw up several possible designs. After discussion with the client(s) I will draw another design and so on until a final design is reached. Then, if desired, I will help them choose finishes, lighting, fixtures, and furniture. Depending on the scope and detail in the job, an initial deposit is made toward the design, followed by either a progress or final payment. I also will occasionally do a single meeting consultation for a set fee.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design with special study in Kitchen Design. I have worked in the remodeling and design field for over twenty years dong mostly kitchen and bath design. I am currently "flipping" a house, and have also done some staging.
