FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
20$ for diagnostic - note that this fee is waived should you agree to repair/replacement. 40$ typical labor/repair. - note that this does not include the cost of replacement hardware, which I require a full down payment for prior to ordering. 60/hr. for home appointments, including repairs, setups, etc. It is typically much easier if I can pick up your machine. IT consulting is based on the amount of consulting done.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically it is easiest to pick up the machine so I can diagnose it at my shop (I have a variety of testing tools there). I always test your hardware first (RAM and Hard Drive) then proceed to software issues. Starting with hardware testing helps ensure there are no unforeseen issues, and backup critical data sooner rather than later.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked at a variety of computer repairs shops and currently manage a computer refurbisher at Eastern Michigan University. I have worked on computers for several years in various IT positions.
