FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer discounts to students who pre-pay for the month in advance. Those rates are as follows-- Half hour lesson: $25, Forty-five minute Lesson: $35, and One hour Lesson: $45. Otherwise, the single-lesson rates are as follows-- Half hour lesson: $30; Forty-five minute lesson: $40; and One hour lesson: $50. Depending on distance of travel, a small travel fee may potentially apply.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will begin a new student evaluation by briefly discussing your history (have you done any singing before and if so, to what extent?). Next, we will discuss your goals (why are you taking lessons?). After that introduction we will start with a 5-Tone "Ah" scale. This scale is very telling--I can learn pretty much everything I need to know about your voice when we go through this scale. Based on those results I will develop a lesson-plan suited for your particular vocal needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied voice since 2002. I have had the privilege of training under maestros like Seth Riggs, Brett Manning, and Jeffrey Skouson. My voice really transformed through the application of Speech Level Singing, so that method is the foundation for the approach I take with my students. I also have attended the Los Angeles Recording School, and have studied recording arts since 2004. I have attended songwriting classes with greatly skilled songwriters such as Pat Pattison at the Berklee College of Music, Kara Dioguardi, and Franki Love.
