FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We bill for time and material, separately usually, with great detail. We also include a Mobilization charge to get us here or there, usually in more densely populated cities where travel becomes cumbersome. Our clients will always know what they're paying for, when, and why. We also aim to discuss inherent risks with each type of project that could change the game. We would prefer to bid high, and refund our clients, but we work with everyone to bid how they would best appreciate it.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stay on top of Civil and Geotechnical Engineering updates through ASCE, SAME, CalGeo, and a select few other groups. We are also entertaining other companies with proprietary products so we can stay ahead of the market. If it makes sense, and it's been tested and proven, we're willing to explore unknown territory!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
The workers in my company all had our individual backgrounds. We grew up as very close friends, each of us, and one late night over a bonfire and barbeque, we talked about doing what we did, but better. Cheaper. Faster. Better service. Most of the problems our employers experienced were lack of clarity and communication with clients. Could we change it? In doing so, could we change people's lives for the better? We agreed servicing other people was or calling, and Sapphire Stabilizing Solutions, Inc. was born.
