FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge an hourly rate, but give a discount if they don't cancel during the month. I am considering charging them if they don't give me 24 hours notice of a cancellation because I could be using that time for another student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am considered highly qualified in English by the state of Idaho because of coursework I've taken. I also completed the Mathematical Thinking for Instruction course required by the state. I only had my project, worth 6 credits, left to complete my Master's degree.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have worked with children since I was very young myself. While babysitting, the parents always said I should be a teacher because I loved to work with the kids so much. While in college, I volunteered at a day care, and they wanted to hire me. My mother was the executive director of Head Start, and I volunteered there for a short time. I have a special needs sister, and once I started studying to be a teacher, I knew that I wanted to help those who were struggling.
