FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $75 per hour, although in some cases I am willing to negotiate. I am open to pro-rating the price per lesson for shorter or longer amounts of time as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's always important when working with a new student to build a positive and respectful relationship: getting to know the student and letting them know that I'm a partner in his/her learning. I like to find out what is being taught at the time in school, and where the learner is at academically, while also learning about what the student is interested in outside of school (hobbies, sports, musical instruments, etc). Communicating with the classroom teachers can also be helpful at times too, to make sure that I'm supporting their goals for the student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.A. In Elementary Education and Studio Art, M.Ed. In Curriculum and Instruction, MA Teaching License in Elementary Education, MA Teaching License in Middle School Math (5-8), MA Teaching License in Visual Art (K-8)
