I deal with chronic pain from a shattered femur along with other separate conditions of the spine. I started working with yogi julz to see if yoga would help my pain levels and circulation in my legs. It has been a blessing. I highly recommend. On a side note = I have been thinking about doing yoga for years but never really did it because it always seems intimidating when I look in on classes and everybody's tied in pretzels but yoga Julz is down to earth keeps it simple and explains stuff clearly that anyone at any level will be able to follow along and benefit from. Before attending Pell City Yoga, I had never been to a yoga class before and was a little apprehensive. Julia made it easy to start and learn the positions – she knows her stuff and is very patient. The poses stretch muscles and joints making everyday activities easier; I am feeling stronger – both mentally and physically. I definitely recommend Pell City Yoga for everyone interested in increasing their flexibility.
We offer body, mind and spirit yoga classes in beautiful Anniston, Alabama. The classes are instructed by northeast Alabama's leading yoga instructor, Mariya Bullock. Yoga classes are based on Kripalu tradition, although it has influence from other traditions such as Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga. We are offering a variety of classes for everyone. We are concentrating on modifications and variations of postures to meet individual needs. Our goal is to have asana (postures) as tools to release chronic tension, stretch, strengthen the body and increase self-awareness. What is commonly referred to as "yoga" can be more accurately described by the Sanskrit word "asana" which refers to the practice of physical postures or poses. Many people think that yoga is just stretching. But while stretching is involved, yoga is about creating balance in the body by developing strength and flexibility.
DeAnna received her American Tribal Style's general skills and teacher certification in April 2007. She is currently an ATS belly dance instructor and an assistant director of Devyani Dance Company. DeAnna is also excited and honored to be one of 12 Tribal Pura International Sister Studio Continuing Education instructors in the world. She is also a certified yoga instructor (200 RYT). She is trained in ashtanga and vinyasa flow. Her primary teaching style is vinyasa flow. Her classes use a series of creatively modified sun salutations and balancing postures to build internal heat in preparation to finish class with deeper, longer-held yin-style postures.
