We purchased our home 11 years ago as a 'fixer upper'. Though out the years we have worked with several contractors. Of all the contractors we've ever worked with, All Aspects Painting and Home Repair are the most professional company we've ever worked with. Their prices are reasonable and their attention to detail is impeccable! The cabinets and flooring in our kitchen looks great. Their work superceded my expectations. Chris was even nice enough to help me with some small DIY projects. They showed up bright and early and on time every single day. They also cleaned their work area before leaving every afternoon. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone without any hesitation. Thanks so much guys. We're looking forward to our next project and working with you again!

The gentlemen who came to remove junk from my garage and do some home repairs were fantastic. They were very nice and helpful. Also, they were able to fix my bed that was missing a part. They were able to fabricate the missing piece, by using a simple piece of wood. It was fascinating to watch. If you want A+ service, I suggest you call KC services.

These folks are the best!!! They are professional with a hometown feel. The sod was really the nicest I have ever seen. Within 2 weeks you could barely tell it had new sod laid because of the quality work and sod. I Highly recommend this company for any of your landscaping needs.

My house was in no shape to sell. There were outside issues with the lawn and look of the home. Glass and trash were in the bushes and the lawn had not been touched in over 6 months. Throughout the home there were too many issues to name here. A few of the major things were water leaks, missing/damaged ceiling tiles in the basement, the electric garage door was damaged and missing glass, just about every room needed to be repainted, stains in the ceiling needed to be taken care of, and a toilet in the master bathroom needed to be replaced. All other contractors were quoting around $5,000 and Gregg from Sunbuilding quoted around $3,500 without seeing any of the competing quotes. The work was impeccable and the service was second to none. I live states away from the house and before I could even think to check on the status of the work he was sending me pictures and updates. This helped greatly with my peace of mind that the house was in the proper hands. I would not hesitate to recommend Gregg and Sunbuilding to anyone in need of any work performed on their home...except carpets...I don't think they replace carpets.

Project Scope: Repair leaking sprinkler valve Vendor Performance: They showed up when they said they would. They also recommended repositioning the leaking valve and adjacent valve into a valve pit which eliminated some potential future piping projects. The work was performed to my satisfaction and they even offered suggestions on ways to run my sprinkler system that would save me money. Pricing: I think the price I paid was very reasonable for the scope and quality of work delivered. I would definitely use this contractor again.

Bill was absolutely GREAT! He worked with me every step of the way to ensure the best quality and finished product! I would highly recommend working with Bill to anyone and have already had neighbors asking for his contact info. Bill did high quality work at a very reasonable price. These guys are in the middle of remodeling my entire house and added on an extra room. Did an amazing job. The paint and crown molding is beautiful throughout the entire house. And my bathroom is gorgeous. They removed the existing tub and replaced it with a Jacuzzi tub completely moved my toilet to add more space and made the cabinets look very pretty with the old pallet wood I had saved up to put throughout my house. Very professional. Did everything how I wanted and even gave me other great ideas which they did and it has turned out amazing. I will definitely be using them again. They even took it upon themselves to paint a shelf for my son's birthday room in the same colors to match his walls. I loved it. Remember the photos are what they're in the final stages of on my remodel job.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Why should you hire a contractor?

Hiring a general contractor is a good idea for many remodeling projects. Home renovation contractors have a broad range of skills to manage, coordinate and complete a project. They should help make sure your project comes in on time and within your budget as they hire and supervise all the necessary subcontractors, including electricians and plumbers. They also handle procuring all the materials required for your job. Some homeowners look to save money by acting as their own contractor, but an experienced home renovation contractor is worth the cost. They should know local building codes, be able to pull all necessary permits, and work with inspectors to make sure the construction meets local codes. Also, because they get professional discounts, they can typically buy materials at a better price than you can; better prices on materials and labor save you money, and make up for at least a percentage of the cost of the contractor.

When should you hire a contractor?

A few home remodeling projects can be done by an ambitious DIY-minded homeowner or local handyman, but many are best completed by a professional home renovation contractor. You should hire a contractor when you’re planning a large project that takes time, machinery or large tools, and several workers; a kitchen remodel, new bathroom or home addition will be most successful with a licensed, expert contractor at the helm. It’s particularly important to have a professional contractor on board for construction, electrical, plumbing and HVAC projects that require inspections to meet local building codes. Of course, you can hire a contractor for smaller projects, too, if you prefer to let an expert handle things like addition or removal of a wall, small framing projects, or anything that requires a permit.

You should hire a contractor when you’re ready to start a remodeling project and you have plans, a budget and a timeline for the work in hand, but before any remodeling work begins.

How much will it cost to remodel my house?

The cost to remodel a home is highly variable — size and scope of the project, quality of materials, and the number of subcontractors required to complete the job all affect the total cost. The average national cost of a home renovation project is $13,500. The national average per-square-foot cost of a remodel ranges from $25 to $100. Nationally, kitchen and bathroom remodels are the most popular types of projects, in part because they typically have the highest return on investment when the home is sold. The national average cost of a major kitchen remodel ranges from $25,000 to $62,000, while the average bathroom remodel tends to cost $6,000 to $18,000. In addition to materials and labor costs, many remodeling project costs include permit fees, which, average $900 or more, depending on your location.

Do I need a contractor for a kitchen remodel?

A kitchen remodel is one of the most important investments you can make in your home, and it’s critical to get the details right; that’s where a home renovation contractor comes in. A minor remodel usually includes new cabinet faces and hardware, replacement appliances, and paint, while an extensive job may enlarge the kitchen’s square footage, install new cabinets or an island, change the layout, and lay new tile or hardwood floors. Any renovation that includes filing permits, construction, or electrical or plumbing work is best completed by an experienced contractor who knows local codes.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
