All Aspects Painting and Home Repair came and gave me a thorough and extremely accurate estimate. They kept me informed on the times that they would show up and were always on time. I was impressed with the respect that was displayed toward my property. The crew didn't leave behind any trash and were very professional every step of the way. The only thing that impressed me more was the quality of the work they performed. They removed the popcorn from the ceiling and patched numerous areas that had previously been improperly patched. Although the popcorn removal was messy they tried every step of the way to reduce the amount of noise and mess that I was exposed to. They painted all of my trim and doors as well as the walls also. Most impressive to me about the work was that they were very concerned about coming back out after the carpet installers to ensure that their paint job looked good. They really care about the quality of their work. Another characteristic that stuck out was that All Aspects Painting and Home Repair took the time to answer my many questions. A naturally curious person I had many questions and not once did I get a canned response. The time they took to explain answers really allowed their passion for their work to show through. I have shown off their work to everyone I know. The professionalism and the passion displayed for their work would have me enthusiastically recommend these gentleman to anyone.

Gabriel and his crew painted our whole house (interior), finished in an interior room (drywall, electrical, door installation), did some plumbing additions, and installed carpet in addition to other jobs that came up during the process. We are very pleased with his work and attention to detail. Gabriel is a pleasure to work with and is responsive to concerns/ changes that come up in remodeling. Thank you to you and your great team!!!

The gentlemen who came to remove junk from my garage and do some home repairs were fantastic. They were very nice and helpful. Also, they were able to fix my bed that was missing a part. They were able to fabricate the missing piece, by using a simple piece of wood. It was fascinating to watch. If you want A+ service, I suggest you call KC services.

I had three separate projects posted on Thumbtack. Mike and his wife completed all three projects (landscaping, pressure washing and cleaning), plus a project I hadn't yet posted (installing doors). They did an absolutely amazing job for a very reasonable price and had it all completed in 5 days! They were also super nice and so easy to work with. I will definitely call them the next time I need work done!

Adam with Morgan Door and Window was fantastic! He was available within a couple of days, on time, well priced and extremely polite. I felt perfectly comfortable with him being in my home. He even text me photos from Home Depot for me to pick out the style I liked. The door looks great and I will definitely be using him for any additional door or window projects!

We had some issues with roofing, siding and structure on the house we bought in June of 2016. The garage was added on years ago, and the connection to the house wall was not properly flashed. Also, a metal roof was installed, and it was not properly flashed, and there were no actual valley flashings installed. The metal just rested on top of the other side. There was a hidden leak which destroyed the rim joists in the corner of an upstairs bedroom. Mark and his crew took off siding and roofing, replaced rotted structure and plywood under the siding, and installed proper flashing at the connection to the wall. The removed on whole side of the garage roof metal, cut in a ridge vent that was not done on the original install, built proper valleys, and built a cricket next to the chimney to prevent pooling and leaking there. They also trimmed the edges of the metal roof that were hanging too far over the edged and prevented the gutters from catching the runoff. They paid Lots of attention to small details that weren’t absolutely mandatory, but just made the job look much nicer. Everyone went well above and beyond the minimums. They never once complained, and Mark never asked for more money like some I have experienced before. I am already considering Mark Clemons and his crew for more work around my house. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with these fine gentlemen.

Mr. Palmer is very professional. He does a tremendous job communicating with myself and the client during each step of the install. There were few issues that arose during this project. Mr. Palmer stepped up and got everything taken care without complaint. He is fairly priced, and very dependable. We will use Mr. Palmer's service again. We are an Advertising firm out of Texas, we contacted Mr. Palmer using Thumb Tack and have been very pleased through this entire project. Thank you Shannon you are very easy to work with!

We had a master bath remodel which included removing a shower stall, whirlpool tub and moving the toilet to a new location. He installed new tile in the entire bathroom and master closets, a tiled shower with bench, new exhaust with light, linen closet, utility closet and a water closet. The Guys With Tools arrived as they said they would and got the job done in a timely manner. He was pleasant and easy to work with. After this job was completed, we had him come and lay more tile in another bathroom. I would recommend them (and have to all I've talked to) for any job you are considering. We will be using them again when the need arises.

Over the past several years, I've had Ricky to do several projects around my home - i.e. install metal roof, siding, window and door replacement, enclose a set of stairs, pour a concrete driveway pad, and build a retaining wall. I have never been disappointed with the workmanship of him or the men he has working for him. I have no reservations recommending Ricky Moore to anyone.

The job was sprucing up the window trim around our house. The project turned out to be more involved than I thought, but Chris and his crew handled every aspect of it without a problem in just a few days. Chris did not lowball the estimate (as others did) just to get the job; he gave an accurate price and then threw in some extra work along the way without raising the price. He also listens to what the customer wants but is not afraid to express his opinion if he thinks, based on his experience, something will be better than what you had in mind. I am grateful to have found Chris because for a while now I have been looking for a true professional who I could trust to do the range of projects that will be needed on this house and Chris and his crew fit the bill.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you replace a window?

You may want to replace a window if the glass has been damaged, you’re remodeling a room, or you want to upgrade your energy efficiency as well as your style by getting rid of those drafty single panes that are losing you money. When replacing a window, you can remove and replace the entire window down to the house frame. This method is best if the existing frame is damaged or deteriorating, but requires construction skills and know-how and will take more time and money. An easier and less expensive option is to install an insert replacement window into the existing frame. Insert replacements are only an option if your window frame is in good condition without rot or damage.

When replacing an entire window, first you’ll carefully remove the existing window with a pry bar and other tools. Next, you’ll make any repairs and adjustments needed to the existing frame or header and studs to ensure that the space is perfectly plumb and square, so the new window will sit perfectly within the space. Next, install the new window from the exterior, securing it into place. You’ll need to precisely wrap and insulate the window to ensure it doesn’t leak. Then, install the interior casing and exterior trim (as needed). If you prefer to hire a professional to install a window, consider replacing more than one window at a time, as the pro can work more efficiently.

How much is a custom window?

Choosing custom windows will increase your window installation cost but will provide you with exactly what you want. The average national cost for window installation is $2,650. Your custom window costs will vary based on several factors. The first factor is the type of frame you want. The four most common types of frames are vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum and wood. Wood is typically the most expensive option, followed by aluminum. The type of glass you select will also affect cost. There are single-, double- and triple-pane windows. Most double- and triple-pane windows have gas sealed between the panes that act as insulation. Windows typically cost more the more energy-efficient they are, though this efficiency can save you money on utility bills in the long run. The type of glass used can also affect cost. There are different grades of glass — high-performance glass, low-e coated glass, and more — which all provide you with better insulation. In addition, the number of unified inches (window height x window width) you need will affect cost. The cost of custom windows will also be affected by installation cost and whether any repair or construction work is required to properly fit the new window.

How much would it cost to put in new windows?

The cost to replace a window can vary depending on factors such as window size, type of glass, brand of window, necessary trim repair, and any construction work required for installation. Labor rates and cost to do business in your region will also affect the cost. The national average window installation cost is $2,650 per project. Here are some examples of average trim repair and window replacement costs:

    • Trim repair:
      • Line and case a window frame with an MDF product: $400.
      • Line and case a window frame with raw hemlock wood: $500.
    • Approximate cost to install five windows at one time: $3,000.
    • Approximate cost to install one double-hung, energy-efficient 3-foot by 4-foot window: $500-$550.
      • For the same window size (3-foot by 4-foot) from a different manufacturer made with a specialty fiberglass exterior and all-wood interior, the cost could go up to $1,500.
      • Pricing can go as high as $5,000 for a bay or bow window with specialty glass and framing.
        • These examples include removal and disposal of old materials and window.
