My approach is warm and positive; I give students everything they need to pursue both classical and contemporary music, and we have fun doing it!

As a homeschool graduate, I began college early at age 15 for music theory and performance.
Since 2010 I’ve taught lessons, both privately, and for award-winning music academies across America.

Maya is a great, proactive piano teacher. She creates a lesson plan that follows any style and level. The lessons she has online are extremely helpful and she gives you the space and curriculum to achieve your goals. Her plan is set up for a weekly meet and additionally allows for extra meetings if you so desire.

This is the best piano teacher ever. My son is autistic and has an insanely good memory for piano. He loves it dearly, but it’s difficult for him to get through lessons sometimes.
His teacher is so patient and sweet. She redirects him and works with us if he doesn’t want to do a song or needs a minute if something is hard.
She has great songs—they make you want to play more. It helps my son want to play if it’s a song he likes.
She is great with gently correcting him on appropriate hand structure. She’s seriously just the best. I can’t say enough good things!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tuition is a flat monthly rate which reserves an ongoing weekly lesson time. There is no extra charge for a fifth calendar week.
The fee structure can be viewed like a gym membership; a flat rate that gives you studio access, plus perks like studio licensed sheet music, handy learning app memberships, and more!
Your main lesson book is an extra charge, but most supplementary sheet music is included in studio membership, and is emailed to you at no extra cost.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to put new students at ease, and gently assess current knowledge without making them feel like it’s an examination! Of course I also make sure they learn something new to practice.
In an online-only studio, the first lesson typically also involves assisting with student-side setup of device and camera angle. This is resolved within 1-2 lessons and things typically go smoothly after that!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Private instrument study, private theory study, and college courses in the same. I graduated with a bachelors degree in a different area, but I continue to actively study a variety of professional development material.
I’m also pursuing teacher certifications through the Royal Conservatory of Music, and I study privately with Géza Kulhay, who performs with the symphony in Budapest.
