- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Tuition is a flat monthly rate which reserves an ongoing weekly lesson time. There is no extra charge for a fifth calendar week. The fee structure can be viewed like a gym membership; a flat rate that gives you studio access, plus perks like studio licensed sheet music, handy learning app memberships, and more! Your main lesson book is an extra charge, but most supplementary sheet music is included in studio membership, and is emailed to you at no extra cost.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to put new students at ease, and gently assess current knowledge without making them feel like it’s an examination! Of course I also make sure they learn something new to practice. In an online-only studio, the first lesson typically also involves assisting with student-side setup of device and camera angle. This is resolved within 1-2 lessons and things typically go smoothly after that!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Private instrument study, private theory study, and college courses in the same. I graduated with a bachelors degree in a different area, but I continue to actively study a variety of professional development material. I’m also pursuing teacher certifications through the Royal Conservatory of Music, and I study privately with Géza Kulhay, who performs with the symphony in Budapest.
