Adrien worked on schedule, gave us valuable advise etc. The only downside was the work needed some final touches but he never came to fix them even after multiple texts. The unfinished areas areas are visible.

We wanted to change our dining room into an office, adding a wall. They did a great job and it looks great! Also, in the middle of the job, a bad storm made our ceiling leak and they assessed the damage, fixed it, and covered it back up to where you can’t even tell. The pics are before and after.

Details: Change the form or function of a portion of a room or structure • Living room • No existing plans, but have a good idea of what I want • No, the project is not covered by an insurance claim • Within the month

I recently hired Splintered Gentry (Adrien Caballero) for multiple home renovation projects, including installing a kitchen backsplash, demolishing and completely remodeling two bathrooms, and painting ceilings throughout my house. While the company showed up to work regularly and provided post-work cleaning inside the house, I must address several concerns regarding the quality of their workmanship. In the smaller of the two bathrooms, the sheetrock work appeared rushed and inadequately completed. Sections of the sheetrock were painted before the mud had dried, resulting in a visibly flawed finish. Additionally, there were unpainted spots on the walls. In both bathrooms the sheetrock around the door trim had irregularities, resembling lumpy textures. The subfloor leveling (after removing of old tile and concrete) in the larger bathroom was poorly executed, causing the bathroom floor to be significantly higher than the adjoining areas. Despite attempts to mitigate this issue, such as sloping the threshold, the discrepancy remains noticeable, and the threshold does not look good. In terms of tiling, inconsistencies were evident in the larger bathroom, where tiles were not uniformly level. One tile notably protrudes, detracting from the overall appearance of the space. While most ceilings look good, there are noticeable imperfections in a couple of areas, undermining the overall quality of the work. The cleanup process outside the house left much to be desired. Residue from tile work was carelessly dumped in our yard, necessitating additional cleanup efforts. The yard beside our driveway was damaged with ruts from backing in the work trailer and debris was left behind in the driveway, including nails, screws, and sharp metal fragments. After we had paid in full, he said he would come back to finish the small bathroom and correct some of the problems. He did come back, however, he said he wanted additional money. When my husband refused to pay additional money, he left the work as shown in the pictures included.

Details: Kitchen • Backsplash • 25 - 50 sq ft • Drywall • No, but I will buy the tiles myself

Splintered Gentry's reply
Hello Rebekah, Thank you for the feedback. If we could set up a time for us to come touch up the paint we can get that fixed for you. Even though we didn’t include painting in the estimate, and we didn’t charge you for the painting, if we did it, it should look good. Sorry about that. I’ll reach out to schedule the touch up. We have learned a lot working with you both and will keep your feedback in mind for future jobs.
